Element continues to impress!

April 20, 2021

Custom Denning’s Element Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) continues to impress in both NSW and Qld, with trials in Sydney giving great results and recently having an official launch function in Qld prior to being onsite for the 2021 QBIC Conference on the Gold Coast

Trials in Sydney have revealed that up to 500km maximum range is capable and overall feedback has been positive with driver feedback on drivability and lack of noise in comparison to the normal diesel bus that they would normally drive. Further trials in other areas of the TfNSW Sydney Metro and Outer Metro contracted areas will begin in the coming weeks.

On Thursday 8th April a select group of Customers were given the opportunity to ride on the Element to Burleigh Pavilion for an official launch event. The 40 minute ride gave Custom Denning’s MD Scott Dunn, the opportunity to give an overview of the bus and also for everyone to appreciate the ride and lack of noise that the Element BEV offers.

On the Saturday the 10th of April, at the QBIC Conference the Element was on site carry out test drives in the gaps between sessions. This allowed operators the opportunity to drive the bus and get a feel for driving the bus firsthand.

At the end of the Conference, on Saturday night, the bus was also used to assist QBIC to transport attendees of the conference from SeaWorld to Movie World for the QBIC Gala Dinner. The response was extremely positive, with all operators requesting further trials.

Over 17 hours of driving from the point the bus left the Custom Denning factory in Brisbane and back again without charge gave a good indication of the capability of the bus.

Interest in the bus is strong and our intent is to deliver from July 2021.
