Empowering Generations through Innovation and Service: The Clark Family Story

September 24, 2024

Custom Denning recently had the pleasure of visiting Clarks Logan City for the handover of two new low-floor city buses. These buses mark the beginning of a twenty-bus order, with an additional eight buses scheduled for delivery over the next week or two. The buses feature Volvo B8 RLE chassis paired with the Custom Denning Endeavour body.

Fitted with Styleride Premier Protean seats, a Ventura door system, Luminator destination equipment, Thermo King air conditioning, and a Consat passenger information system with passenger counters, these buses are designed to provide the local community with state-of-the-art transportation that is reliable, safe, and comfortable. With these advanced features, passengers can enjoy a high level of convenience and efficiency, ensuring an enhanced travel experience for all.

The Clark’s family journey is a testament to Community spirit and determination. Yvonne and Reg Clark, the founders recognised a pressing need when their eldest daughter started attending Loganholme State School.

They were seeing many families struggle without a reliable school bus service, which was essential for ensuring the children’s safety and accessibility. Yvonne, actively involved in the schools P&C association, reached out to local bus operators for help. Unfortunately, she faced some challenges as none of the companies were interested in providing a service to the school. Not ones to give up easily, Yvonne and Reg sought support from their state government. Their persistence was rewarded when they received information about available funding options.

With a spirit of entrepreneurship and a deep commitment to their community, they conducted thorough research and completed all necessary paperwork. On 22 March 1976, with all approvals secured, they launched their very first school route. Reg proudly drove that inaugural service, not realising the profound impact this venture would have on the Logan district.

Today, their legacy continues through a family-run business that proudly employs 200 individuals from all over 20 different countries. Now in its second and third generations, the Clark family is dedicated to upholding their commitment to innovation and diversity. For over 42 years, the Clarks have been devoted to supporting Logan families.

During the handover, our team was truly inspired by the stories shared by Reg and Yvonne. Their dedication and sacrifices to ensure the local community received the transportation it deserved and still does, was deeply moving. It was clear that the 'Clark’s family story – Empowering Generations through Innovation and Service' is not just a motto, but a principle that is practiced daily at Clarks Logan City Bus. At Clarks, it is obvious that family values and a strong sense of responsibility towards their community guide everything they do.

Custom Denning looks forward to continuing this journey with Clarks Logan City Bus and Volvo Bus Australia as we work toward a future that inspires both current and future generations to seek innovative solutions that benefit the entire community in Loganholme, Queensland, and across Australia.
