On Friday, 13 December, U-Go Mobility celebrated the delivery of their new Custom Denning Element 2 Battery Electric Bus (BEB), perfectly timed for the festive season.
The day was an exceptional experience, with members of Custom Denning’s sales, operations, and after sales teams on-site to deliver comprehensive operational, driver, and maintenance training. U-Go Mobility staff engaged in a hands-on introduction to the new bus, participating in test drives, demonstrations, and tailored sessions designed to enhance their understanding of the vehicle’s systems.
Driver trainers from U-Go Mobility conducted driving exercises, focusing on the bus’s operational features to ensure a seamless and safe transition into service. Maintenance teams also had the opportunity to inspect the bus’s design and functionality, including a close review from an open pit to understand its unique maintenance requirements.
Representatives from Transport for NSW joined the event, actively participating in test drives and sharing their valuable insights, adding to the collaborative atmosphere of the day.
The Custom Denning Element 2 represents more than just another bus; it’s a milestone in sustainable transport. Proudly designed and built in Australia, it features cutting-edge technology that minimises emissions while maximising efficiency and passenger comfort. With a range of up to 400 kilometres in its standard 380 kWh configuration and the ability to recharge in under one hour in its upgraded pantograph setup (462kWh), the Element 2 is a robust solution for modern public transport needs.
Key Features of the Custom Denning Element 2
Dimensions: 12.0 meters long, 2.5 meters wide, and 3.4 meters high.
Capacity: Comfortably seats 41 passengers, with space for an additional 28 standing.
Battery Power and Drive System: Powered by a ZF CeTrax electric drive motor delivering 300 kW of power and 4,500 Nm of torque, the system includes lithium-ion NMC batteries with a capacity of 380 kWh, expandable to 462 kWh.
Comfort: Equipped with Spheros Revo-E Global air conditioning and Ventura ElectricPassenger Door Systems, ensures a smooth and comfortable ride for all passengers.
The bus’s low-floor design with flat floor to the rear, prioritises accessibility, ensuring ease of use for all passengers, including those with mobility challenges.
